Visitor Guidelines
The William S. Hart Museum is open to the general public. Please observe the following rules in order to protect the historic structures and allow visitors to enjoy the Museum:
- Do not lean against or touch the historic objects, display cases, fixtures, or walls.
- Water, in a lidded container, is allowed in the Museum. No food or other liquids are permitted.
- No flash or commercial photography, tripods, or selfie sticks.
- No smoking or use of tobacco products in the park.
- Wheeled conveyances (shopping carts, skateboards, wheelies, etc.,) are not permitted inside the Museum. Medically required equipment and wheelchairs are permitted. The Mansion’s tour path is not conducive to stroller use; however, strollers are permitted in the Ranch House.
- Bags larger than a small backpack (11×14 inches) are not permitted in the Museum. The Museum is not responsible for unattended items.
- Animals other than service animals, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, are not allowed in the Museum.
- Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible caregiver.
- Shirts and shoes are required inside the Museum.
- Visitors must be considerate of other guests. Loud, abusive or threatening language will not be tolerated.
The Museum is governed by the City of Santa Clarita Public Library’s Code of Conduct, which is posted at the Museum and available for viewing via the Museum’s website.
